We as human beings are enduring some challenging times currently. This pandemic has changed all too much, including how people live their daily lives. Which can directly affect their health. What is also concerning is the lack of activity in our youth today. Studies have shown minimal activity and a toxic lifestyle = chronic illness over time.
What is included in “daily lifestyle” you ask? This is how you move daily, how you breath, are you sedentary most of the day? Are you hydrated? Are you drinking caffeine most of the day? Are you living in a high stress environment? How much sleep are you getting and is it quality sleep? Are you blocking out time for exercise and you time at some point in the day? How are you nourishing and recovering your body?
As a coach and trainer, it is our job to educate and help these individuals. Open their eyes to show them exercise is not the only piece to the puzzle. We say it time and time again…if you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything. How you function on a daily basis tells a lot about a person. Teaching our youth this and creating good habits now before it gets to a point of no return.
Living in the technology age has it’s pro’s and con’s. However we have seen some serious negative effects. Kids today are required to be on their phones/computers for more than 50% of their day. Sports taken away, minimal interaction with peers, sedentary all day long and required to wear a mask.
We must create a positive environment in our training sessions, whether it be working with general population, professional athletes or the youth. We are all going through tough times and must stick together, unity. Our goal at Bradshaw Personal Fitness, is to create an educational approach to teach coaches and trainers on how to be a leader in the field, know the difference between right and wrong, create a higher standard in the health and fitness field. As Brendon Rearick would say, DO NO HARM.
